A Weekend of Culture, Community, and Collective Power
Memphis Black Family Reunion is a two-day celebration of culture, community, and connection that brings Black Memphians together to honor who we are, where we've come from, and what we can build together.
This reunion is rooted in a simple belief:
Family is more than blood.
Family is also:
the neighbors who show up,
the elders who pour into us,
the artists who tell our stories,
the entrepreneurs who invest in our communities,
the faith leaders who inspire hope,
the organizers who help us solve problems,
and the young people who carry our future.
The Memphis Black Family Reunion celebrates both the families we're born into and the communities we choose to build together.
The festival also recognizes that the arts are not simply entertainment, but they are essential to thriving communities.
Art preserves our history, fuels our imagination, strengthens our economy, and reminds us of our shared humanity.
At a time when too many spaces leave us divided or disconnected, the Memphis Black Family Reunion creates a place where Black Memphians can gather in joy, fellowship, and purpose.

The Memphis Black Family Reunion is free and open to the public.

Although registration is strongly encouraged, it is not required. Registering for the People’s Assembly portion of the festival helps us accomodate seating for the expected attendees.

Yes, security will be on-site.
All attendees must enter through a security checkpoint.
All bags are subject to search upon entry.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, games, umbrellas, family and friends.
Do not bring tents (unless you registered for a Sponsored Family Experience)

Yes! You bring your own prepared food or use the park grills (if available).

Weapons of any kind, including firearms and knives
Drugs and alcohol
BBQ Grills
Tents (unless you registered for The Sponsored Family Experience).

General Parking is available in the park along the roadway. Parking lots are reserved for accessibility accomodations, staff, vendors, food trucks and The Sponsored Family Experience.

The Sponsored Family Experience is designed to provide comfort within community. It is a reserved space set aside for tents without obstructing the view of the stage. It ensures your family has a shaded home base while enjoying the weekend’s festivities.
