J. Buck

THE RETURN OF NOSTALGIC SOUL

It’s time the world can open its ears to the dynamic R&B sounds of J. Buck aka “BuckNasty”. Born Joshua Buck, this Memphis native is on his way to adding his contribution to Memphis’s music legacy. J. Buck distinguished himself as a solo artist and songwriter early in his career with unique stage presence and profound lyrics. In 2015, Buck released his debut EP The JBuckExperience which the Murfreesboro Pulse cited as “a step towards the direction of this generation’s version of Marvin Gaye”

At first glance,  you may confuse him for the ghost of David Ruffin or Prince with his slick style and electrifying performances. With various influences from Rock, Blues, and Hip-hop, this soul bother amplifies the black male experience through love, addiction, and free thought.

In 2016, Buck hosted a European tour off the sophomore album Love Matters captivating audiences with vocal range and flashy dance moves. He’s also won various competitions including IKEA's Battle of The Bands as well been featured on Sofar Sounds and South by Southwest (SXSW). Back in full effect in 2020 with the latest project Bar Talk, the album explores the reality of situationships, addiction, and the millennial black male experience.

Spreading love and funk through his music, J. Buck embodies the ability to musically seduce his fans giving them an experience that they can’t forget.
