Roa

Roa is a 20 year old musician and songwriter based in Memphis, TN. Originally from Wisconsin, they began their musical career at the age of 10, finding their voice in church, and cementing the theme of religious exploration in conjunction with explorations of sexuality and gender identity. These two notions represent the basis of Roa’s musical philosophy, showing up continuously throughout their work.

At the age of 12, they began formal lessons in classical piano, and has since taught themselves guitar and bass, as well as a plethora of other non conventional instruments. With works rooted in blues, gospel, rock, jazz, and funk, Roa finds comfort in their versatility. An artist with a vision, Roa intends to focus on creating a more environmentally conscious society; bridging the gaps between humanity and the natural world through the music they create.
