Virghost
Durand ‘Virghost’ Somerville is a rapper, spoken word artist, and songwriter hailing from Memphis TN.
In 2013, Virghost won the K97’s (WHRK Memphis) “Next Big Thing” competition and from there Virghost continued to perform in front of captivated audiences throughout the south, honing his skill as a performing artist, and growing a loyal and supportive fan base. Virghost has opened shows for major recording artists such as Juicy J, French Montana, Ro James, and Rocko. He was also the winner of the "Best Urban Album" in the 2017 Nashville Industry Music Awards.
Virghost has been featured in many publications such as the Commercial Appeal, Memphis Flyer, and Nashville Scene.
Virghost has worked to perfect his craft as a Hip-Hop recording artist and songwriter releasing 14 studio projects including 20 albums, 5 EP's, and 7 mixtapes, He has also had two singles receive airplay in Memphis and Nashville, “Be Without You” K97 (WHRK Memphis) in 2013 and “Titan Up” 101.1 (WUBT Nashville) in 2016. Most recently, his song,"60 Feet," was featured in the movie "Jookin'" on the STARZ network in 2022.
